Copyrighted materials can now also be used in basic education in the arts. Licences for early childhood education and educational institutions do not change

The Finnish National Agency for Education has made an agreement with Kopiosto and APFI, an organisation representing the interests of producers in the field of audiovisual content production, on using copyrighted materials in teaching and early childhood education in 2021. The licences cover the copying of materials and presenting TV programmes in education.

Kopiosto’s copyright remunerations to creative industries: EUR 66 million paid in 2020

In 2020, Kopiosto distributed almost EUR 66 million in copyright remunerations to performing artists, authors, publishers and producers. The amount of remuneration increased by an exceptional EUR 20 million from the previous year. The increase in distribution was due to the fact that last year, among other remunerations, a multi-year accumulation of remunerations was settled with APFI, which represents audiovisual producers.

Meet the new members of the Kopiosto board of directors

Two new members were appointed to the Kopiosto Board of Directors by the member organisations of Kopiosto in their autumn meeting in December: Chief Steward Anu Kähkönen and Legal Director Ismo Huhtanen.
