Our 45 member organisations are represented in two annual meetings of our association. These general assemblies act as the highest decision-making body of our association. The Kopiosto Board of Directors is appointed at the autumn assembly.
A total of 43 people work in five departments at our office in Kamppi, Helsinki.
Licensing and Customer Services attends to our customers, negotiates agreements, organises educational events and distributes information about our licences.
Rightsholder Services distributes remunerations to authors and publishers in the creative industry, administrates authorisations and is responsible for other services provided for our members.
Legal affairs and research services is responsible for legal matters concerning copyrights, creates statements and declarations, and conducts approximately ten surveys a year studying the use of publications and audiovisual works in education, state administration and businesses.
AVEK – The Promotion Centre for Audiovisual Culture is as a part of Kopiosto. AVEK supports the diversity of Finnish audiovisual culture with the help of copyright remunerations. AVEK funds the creation of new documentary films, animations, short films and media art.
Administration is responsible for the organisation’s support services, HR, communications, stakeholder relations and ICT.
