How much does the licence for using TV programmes in education cost?

We negotiate the licence terms of using TV programmes in teaching on behalf of AV authors.

The Finnish National Agency for Education has acquired our licence to use TV programmes in pre-school, comprehensive school and upper secondary school and in free vocational education leading to a qualification. The remuneration paid by the Finnish National Agency for Education is based on surveys on the amount and content of recording and presenting TV programmes and the price per recording. The remuneration for the licence is distributed to the authors and copyright holders of the works.

The copyright remuneration per recording is €60. The current rate of the value-added tax is added to the remuneration.

In addition, Kopiosto and the Finnish National Agency for Education have agreed upon the presentation of TV Programmes from Yle Areena, Elävä Arkisto and MTV Katsomo as well as the remuneration paid for such presentation.
