Retransmission of TV broadcasts

We grant licences for the retransmission of foreign TV channels in Finland.

We grant extensive licences for the retransmission of certain foreign TV channels. Our customers include cable and IPTV operators, collective antenna networks (e.g. housing associations and antenna cooperatives) and hotels. In addition, we have agreed upon the retransmission of Swedish TV channels on the terrestrial network.

Our mandate to grant licences is based on our agreements with broadcasting companies and our sister organisations that represent foreign authors. In addition, according to the extended collective licence, specified in the Copyright Act, the scope of our licences extends to the rights of authors not included in our agreements.
